I think it would be harder to drain because of its size, depending on how it was dug out. I sure wouldn't worry about it. Plus, seeing that Sumter Square is the show place for the Developer, I'm sure it would be fixed as soon as possible.

As was mentioned before, when the Ashland pond drained, it drained two other ponds. They are all connected retention ponds.

I have no idea how Lake Sumter is built but it is a lake vs a pond.
I do not believe Lake Sumter is man-made but is a natural lake. It has been dredged and shaped, of course, but it is a spring-fed natural lake - to my knowledge. By the way, did you see the hundreds of tilapia nesting circles in the lake earlier this year? It was amazing to see and each one had a large tilapia in it.
