We have a villa and the plant is on a shepards hook between the porch and fence. It gets early morning sun only. It likes lots of light but too much direct light will sunburn the leaves. I have had it ever since they first opened and it is putting on lots of new leaves so I think it is happy in it's new home. A lanai would be a good spot. We had staghorns ferns before and they are a fun plant. Good luck with yours.
