Default More speed.

Have a 2008 48 volt club cart. I need to get between 4 & 5 mph more. On the flat top speed is 15mph. Don't want to go real fast but would like to get to 19-20mph. How can I get up to speed?

The Club Car does about 12 mph from the factory in speed mode #3. Speed mode #4 is the one that Club Car makes you pay about $100 when it's done because the dealer has to buy a code from Club Car to program in. Speed mode #4 takes it to 19.7.

Bottom line: You have to go to a Club Car dealer.

I have a 1992 Gas Club Car that does 20MPH. I'll trade for your cart + $4000.

Default New GE motor will do the trick

You can have a new (not rebuilt) GE Motor put in (without a new controller) and pick up about 2 to 5 MPH - cost is about $550. With a new controller you will pick up more but will be into another $500 or more $. This will help you get up those hills a bit faster and still keep within the limit as long as you keep you foot light downhill and on the flat.

Send pvt msg if you want more info (BTW - I'm not a dealer or have any association with one ).

Don't really want to go more than 19.7. At 15 I feel like a hazard as most people want to pass. Sounds like when I get back will have to get the code 4. Who do you recomend for that?

I think most dealers could set the code to run 19.7. Club Cart World on 441 will do it or Masters Golf Cart can set it, I have no idea what they will charge - if anything. I think its pretty easy to do so it shouldn't be much. Go back to where you bought it and they should do it free. My 2008 Club car Precident came with it set to top speed of 19.X by Master Golf cart up by Markets of Marrion and I've seen him check carts with a meter to make sure they are set to that speed. A 2008 should still be under warranty. BTW thats 19.X on flat not up hill.
