Default Need Governor Replaced on Yamaha Gas

Looking to get a quote from a reliable golf cart technician to have governor replaced on a 2010 Yamaha gas golf cart. Any recommendations? Thank you.

My first question would be, how do you know the governor is the problem? If the symptom is the cart goes to fast and you can't adjust the speed by changing the governor setting, than the problem is in the differential, not the governor. And that is a $350 to $600 repair depending on weather it has to be replaced or can be repaired.

Is he a democrat or a republican? How long has he been driving your golf cart? Do you have term limits for governor?

Was told by one company that it was the governor, a $500 to $600 job. Groan !! Want to get a second opinion & quote (hopefully better one).
