Default What golf carts are made in America?

To continue with the theme started by Diane Sawyer....I'm pretty sure that Club Cars are made in North Carolina by Ingersoll-Rand....I assume that Gem Carts and Ford Think are made in Detroit.....Would you buy American, hope so!....Of course, America has to be competitive, hopefully this recession will level the field... I hate to limit this thread to just golf carts but it is a start!

Seems as though the Yamaha carts are manufactured in GA (specifically, Newnan). See "Background of the Business" on p. 40 of the document: http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global...factbook-e.pdf

If I had to venture a guess I'd say Club Car, Yamaha and EZ Go carts are made in USA. I would also guess that GEM and THINK are made offshore, but I don't consider them golf carts as they are technically LSV's, please keep in mind I am guessing, I'm sure someone with some knowledge will chime in.....gn

How about the new Polaris Electric Carts? I tested one on a recent visit and was impressed?

Not sure what the point of this thread is, but if it has anything to do with quality of construction or reliability, I would go with how long the company has been in business (not to count out where they are built) and of course their reputation, I believe all of the US companies, CC, EZGO and Yamaha have been building them here for 30+ years...gn

Par cars are made in Wisconsin! It's advertised on our radio station plus think if you googled that it would offer your wanted information. :-)

Carts made in the USA? Some carts are assembled in the US with parts made in China. The GEM comes to mind. I think a GEM is very well constructed.

Perhaps mrdills can comment, he is very knowledgeable.

I agree with Barefoot. I think you would be hard pressed to find any golf cart that is not assembled in part with components made in other countries. It's a pretty simple matter of economics.

I have been to the Yamaha plant in Newnan, GA and I can definitely attest to the fact that they are made by good old American boys.

al & jane;

They may be "good old American boys" but the discussion is about their parts.

I always try to buy products made in the U.S. I feel like I'am investing in the future of our country.
