Default Rowing

Is there a ROWING(sculling), not paddling, club in or near TV? Also referred to as "crew"

I believe the Grand Masters Dragon Boat racing involves PADDLING with one PADDLE at a time instead of ROWING or SCULLING with a pair of OARS in a racing shell?

I believe this is the only actual sculling or rowing center in Florida. Dragon boat clubs are paddlers, of which my other half is one. He would love to have a local sculling club.

This is an after thought, but what about approaching the Rec people and seeing whether it could become a new club here. There is a formal way of approaching this, but I cannot think what it is. I don't think you would get single sculls, but you may get a multi crew boat. If enough people are interested TV might just give it some thought. My other half would be right there with you!

If you decide to try to start a rowing club, let Dr Clifford at Colony clinic (Villages Health System) know. He's an avid rower who looked for such a club when he moved down here a couple of years ago.

According to USRowing, the closest organized club with a place to row would be in Clermont. A hike for us Villagers.
As far as a CLOSER location:
1. Do we have a suitable length lake? Lake Miona?
2. Low enough dock with floating section to launch shells?
3. Other than bring our shells in on the roofs of our cars, is there any storage there at Lake Miona to store recrational shells assuming a club bought them?
Hopefully Optimistic
