Question Disposal of printer?

Where can we properly dispose of a printer that can't be fixed?

Thanks.

February 11 at the Winn-Dixie in Lake Sumter Landing, Sumter County will be having their hazardous waste collection. I'm not exactly sure of the times but I know 10 to 2 and may be earlier than that time! I am sure they will have it in the paper again before that date to let you know that it exact times. Otherwise if you cannot wait that long you can set it out with your regular trash.

You can also take it to Best Buy. They will recycle it for free.

Today is the day. Mr. Boomer just dropped off the old printer. He said when he saw the traffic, he almost left, but decided to go ahead and get in line. He was glad he did.

The line moves fast. You don't get out of your car. He is back to our house already and was not gone very long. He was impressed with how organized it is.

I would suggest calling one of the local guys. You may want know there is only a single person taking responsibility, not a corporation that hires several techs.

I do it as a courtesy. Been offering the service since I cant remember. I take them apart, remove the board from the bottom of the drive and destroy it. Then disassemble the drive , remove the platters and destroy them.

I remove the magnets and offer them to who ever wants them. They are great to attach to the oil filer on the car. It catches metal shavings that travel through the motor.

Anyway, PM me if you want more information. I am always glad to answer questions.

Best Buy will take them - and they will let you trade them in for a new printer if it is the right printer
