Default USB Cable and TracFone

I want to move pictures from my TracFone to my PC. I have a number of USC cables around. Do I need a special cable from TracFone for my model OR will any USB cable with a plug on the other end fits into the slot on the TracFone work?

I don't want to find one that fits and find out that the plug wiring is not the same and causes me grief.

Thanks,
Z

I have a tracfone and it came with a cable which I found did not work properly.

From the phone, I was able to email a photo to myself, then save that photo to my computer.

Good luck.

You need a blue tooth device for your computer to be able to move your photos from your TracFone. I had the same problem and this is the only way it can be done. There is no cable that fits into the 420g to accomplish what you would like to do. The only port on the 420g is for charging. Sorry

Default Back to my Question

I found out that I need a microSD 4G card to hold the pictures, etc before I can upload them (or download them). I am now on a quest for the memory card and the USB cable. I guess it is to Best Buy or WalMart to find the necessary equipment.

It is strange that there is not a single site to find out this info.

I'll be interested in your findings. Please report back.

I went down to Wal-Mart on 466 and talked to them. They had the memory card but they were out of the USB cable. I got the card and put in m TracFone and am able to move pictures to the memory card. I wll try the Wal-Mart on 27/441 this week to see if they have a cable. If not I will get the number and order it over the internet.

I see progress.

Default Success!!

As mentioned before, you need a memory card to stage the pictures and videos so you can copy them from the TracFone to the PC and to move files to the TracFone. On the internet I found out that the max size memory card supported is a microSD 4 GB card.

I purchased a SanDisk 4 GB microSDHC card with Adapter. I did not need the adapter. I installed the card and was able to copy pictures and a video from the TracFone over to the memory card. I went down to Wal-Mart and purchased an ONN Micro USB Sync and Charge cable for $9.98. I connected the USB cable from the TracFone to my PC and was able to copy the pictures and a video.

I was also able to copy a couple of pictures from my PC to the TracFone. I guess I could do the same for ring tones and music if I can find the correct file formats.

I am happy now that I can copy the pictures and video from the TracFone to my PC.

The only problem is that the PC does not recognize the TracFone all the time. A couple of times I had to disconnect the cable and reconnect it to get the connection to come up.
