I think there's a thread on here on "Larry the Garage Door Guy"
and he charges around $100 for vents. I opted to have the Solar Guys
install a GF-14 garage fan, which includes 2 garage door vents.
It pulls a breeze that cools down the garage and also vents/cools the attic.
I'm really pleased with it, ran about $525 as I recall which was a great price
from what I researched online.

Even vents have to help a ton though, as does leaving the attic "hatch" vented.

Have you had any problems with any critters getting in through the garage door vents?

We have two vents in the lower panel of the garage door, installed by Larry. The vents include a screen which keeps out any critters.

I also had Solar Guys install the garage fan and door vents. Have you had any trouble with the fan just coming on by itself? This happens once or twice a week. I just haven't had the time to call them and get them to look at it. Wondered if I was a freak accident?

Passing on what our inspector, Steve Lighthouse, told us. " Garage vents at the bottom of the door don't work in Florida climate. All they do is pull out the cool air (hot air raises) at the bottom of your garage.

Won't argue what anyone else thinks. Just passing on what a long term home inspector told us. Again his name is Steve Lighthouse.

From an old 2010 post on the topic:

"Clopay makes a vent panel that replaces the bottom panel of a garage door. It has louvered slots stamped in along the very bottom edge. They are also screened to keep bugs out.
Contact James at J.B. Mathews they will have the best price I believe. They are in Apopka. Nice guy to work with.

They provided windows for our garage doors that were also a replacement panel with the windows factory installed from Clopay. It eliminated the issues of cutting holes in a door that is wind load rated and voiding the warranty or even worse a code violation. They were way less than Romac.
"

I've seen these on a couple of garage doors in our neighborhood - the vents aren't really all that noticeable.
