Default Comcast

Is it the norm for comcast to charge $25 to activate each cable run in the house. That really adds up for what work / time.

Is there a wiring alternative.

I have no problem renting the dvr boxes.

But activating wire that is already there?

When we moved in February the cable was still connected and working. I went over to their office on 27/441 told them it was still working and they signed me up without charging the activation fee.

it usually only occurs the first time a new home is activated. Unless you have to activate dead outlets. You can check the grey box mounted to the side of the house and how many outlets are actually connected to the mainline

Default cable box

Oddly enough the builder never provided a box. Warranty dept says the cable company will provide. Etc. So one seems locked into paying comcast on a per line basis.

There is no telco box either.
