Default Low water level in toilet bowl

Our house (1.5 years old) has two bathrooms, both with identical toilets. Initially the water levels in the toilet bowls in both were at the same level. Now, however, the water level after a flush in one of them never comes close to refilling the bowl to its normal level. (The water level in the tanks for both toilets still appear to be the same.) Is there some way that the mechanism can be adjusted to increase the water that goes into the bowl?

Wink

I am sure you checked this but just in case. The water fills in the tank at two spots one at the base of the mechinism the other is a little tube attached by a clip to the overflow tube that sprays down the tube into the bowl as the tank fills. If it gets knocked so it isn't spraying down the tube the water level in the bowl will be low.

Trudy, never be sure of anything! I had looked very carefully for ways to adjust the mechanism, but, in focusing on that, I failed to see that the tube going into the overflow valve had come loose and was just discharging into the tank. Problem solved. Thanks!
