Default Removing decal from golf cart????

I hope someone out there has a simple solution to removing the name decals from a golf cart. Just purchased a used cart and would like to remove the previous owners names. Can anyone help?

I used a hair dryer to get the name off. Just be careful not to let it get too hot.

Friends, Nancy and Fred bought a used cart that said Mel and Nan. They managed to remove the "L" and were satisfied to drive around with it saying" Nan and Me.

True story.

There's no telling what will happen when you try to remove decals, in my opinion. (I assume it's a painted surface.) A decal may eventually fuse with the paint depending on the type of decal, type of paint, and the length of time it has been on.

Simple...hair dryer, then follow-up with GooBeGone or WD40 to remove the residue. Works every time.

Thank you all for your responses. I will give the hair dryer a try.

Like N44125 says,, nothing works as good as "GooBeGone" great stuff for around the house for many other things as well. Some use a rubber eraser , once the top part of the decal is peeled back, to rub and roll most the cement off, then damp a rag with "GooBeGone" to finish removing the resin glue. Good luck.

If it a Decal (and not painted) try placing a rag soaked in soapy water on it to soften it.
If its a stick on label try to spray WD-40 to soak it.
Place towel under to catch dripping.
Good luck.

I had a decal sticker placed on my window and it stayed there for 15 years. The hair dryer and goobgone, worked fine. I used a "Scobie" Scotch Brite sponge, as it has scours without stratching type surface. Let the goobgone soak in for a few minutes, before wiping it off.

They sell them in supermarkets, or you can go to Walmart.

If it is acrylic paint (the names), as many are, believe it or not you can use Easy Off Oven Cleaner. I've used it on motorcycles in the past for this exact task. It did not damage the finish.
