Are you planning on doing this for EVERY course?

We - TOTV staff & I - do intend to do this for every course.
TOTV tried a similar forum earlier but it quickly became near useless because it lacked structure.
I approached TOTV and together we developed the Forum & sub-forum you see here. We tried creating the first few threads hoping others would follow the example. As witnessed by the posts listed in the Sweetgum thread that didn't happen and post began to "go off the tracks" - again.
Our goal is to create this entire forum in such a way as to interest The Villages golf course management to take an interest in what members are saying. Sorry if getting this setup is causing anguish but we believe it necessary to achieve what we are trying to do.

I think this is a good idea.

I have a question regarding Pelican. I'm not sure if it's appropriate for the thread, so feel free to delete if not. I do NOT want to cause any trouble. Heheh...

Hole number 7 was closed for major green work a while back. Is it open yet?

In my opinion I believe your question IS of the type of exchange we golfers can help one another answer. You might also call the Pelican starter shack @ (352) 205-7427.

Playing there tomorrow (Monday 7/13) AM will let you know!

I should hope so it did not take that long to build a bridge. Just saying.

Played Pelican on Saturday. #7 green still closed.

its still closed played pelican on friday

From a conversation with GMS, that green is not coming along as well as expected. Probably going to be offline for a while more.

Not sure what happened to my original post but . . . Played Pelican today - Monday, 7/13.

Hole #7 is still closed.

I have combined all the recent posts referencing hole #7 @ Pelican.

Hole #7 looks like an air flow issue; tucked back in there and not getting enough air flow to the green to promote healthy growth of the grass. Several courses I've played in Missouri and Illinois before moving here had to put large oscillating fans greenside on a couple of their holes to keep the airflow moving.

Played Pelican 7/21...#7 still closed, but looking much better...the greens are okay, but an infestation of some sort of weed will become a problem...overall a fun day and the greens are holding relatively well....the speed is perhaps an 8 on the stimp...

Played Pelican this morning (7/22). Cart parking lot is shut down, it's going to be paved. Green #7 still closed, however it is really looking in great condition. Wouldn't be surprised to see it open soon. Rest of the course, greens and tee boxes, In good shape.
