City girl needs landscape advice
I live in a villa and want to eliminate grass (pretty big backyard). My question: Should I install pavers (will the weeds pop up eventually?), pour concrete and then have it color coated and install rocks around to compliment.Want to do the most economical while having it almost maintenance free. All suggestions welcome.

I hate rocks. the weeds grow up thru them and you usually have to pull them. If you spray roundup it gets on the rocks, doesn't get absorbed and when it rains or you water can run into good plants. I'm considering pavers or a patio as well to cut down on grass and look forward to responses.

Have you talked to ARC to make sure what you want to do is within your deed restrictions/

YES, weeds will come up through pavers, PERIOD. I have weeds in the cutlines in a solid concrete driveway. You may want to look into a "florida friendly" landscape in place of grass, the mater gardener can help with this. Please remember that when you bought here you signed a set of restrictions as to what you can and cannot do, and removing all of your grass may not be one of these. Hope this helps.

Good point. I'll check, but I thought you have to leave a border around the fence and the wall. Thanks.

Thank you for your input. Before I do anything, I'll check to make sure it's allowed.

Thanks for your input. My neighbors can't see into my backyard, I'm in a courtyard villa.

Just remember, stones, concrete , etc absorb and hold heat. I think it makes villa homes warmer with all that heat retained.
