I am curious is it mandatory to have a lawn in the Villages, what about artificial grass or Desert type landscape that is prevalent in the Southwest. Just from a conservation standpoint this would make more sense and it would eliminate the need to have a lawn service.

You may replace your lawn with a Hardscape if you live in a Villa but in a House it has to be a certain percentage of sod.
