Talk to the county extension agent. The Sumter Co agent does a monthly "Florida friendly landscaping" presentation at Colony Rec (open to all Villagers). They also do a variety of monthly sessions on topics like turf, palms, fruit trees, etc. The Sumter Co Master Gardeners (who work with the extension folks) have weekly "plant clinics" at various Rec Centers.

My advice is to talk to these folks before you order fruit trees (or palms, for that matter). They are knowledgeable and friendly and will give you great (and free) unbiased advice.
