Default How to choose a chiropractor

Hubby has a pinched nerve in his neck. Thinking about going to a chiropractor as we have heard they are the best treatment for this problem. This turns out to be a rather daunting hunt. Amid the warnings of injury and over-treating and over-billing, are reports of amazing recoveries. How does one find a good chiropractor? One who treats the problem well without going overboard? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

its a word of mouth...but its seems the chiropractor wants a long term fix once you see them

Dr. Pete at Colony Chiropratic is my recommendation. He is originally practiced outside the Philadelphia area for I think about 20 years and also just relocated to The VIllages after having a very successful practice in Wesley Chapel, FL. You can view his website at Welcome to Quantum Vitality Centres! or his # is (352) 430-3399. He's in the Colony shopping center next to the golf cart store.
Best of luck to you.

Look for one who will INSIST on X-rays. A real fix can not happen in a few visits. It took years to create the problem....will take time to fix.

Had you thought about an orthopedic M.D? They usually prescribe industrial strength nsaids that help relieve the inflammation around the area.

Default Go to a chiropractor that does NOT advertise!

My husband practiced Chiropractic for 27 years, NEVER advertised and had them lined up outside of his clinic!....Word of mouth is the best!....My husband goes to Dr. Stephen Boyles....I know a previous thread said there is no quick fix BUT when they put you on a 6 week wellness program BEWARE! ....NEVER NEVER pay up front unless that Dr. has a crystal ball on WHEN you will recover!

There are some chiros in the Villages who will try to make you sign a contract for thousands of dollars worth of treatment. They took us in a room and had a financial person meet with us and she said our insurance wouldn't pay for any of it and they wanted $4,000 contract signed on the spot. We didn't sign and found the Dr. in Colony who did the same treatments on both of us and billed our insurance and they paid for everything but our $20 co-pay. It definitely pays to look around but I do trust the doctors at Colony Chiropractic.

Take this advice, as this person knows of what she speaks.

We just always went to an orthopod because our clumsy kids were always breaking something and we knew this one Doc and he was helpful to us back home. Hadn't had much experience with chiropractors, that is all. Many folks find great relied from Chiropractic.

Disclaimer: We didn't harm our kids, they got my ungraceful genes.

Dr Pete in the colony park plaza. When we first moved here he went to ,Davis chiro where we had to pay up front for a years worth of treatments but before the year was up hubby had a worse problem then when we first went there. Checked around found dr Pete had treatments to about 2 months and now feels so much better that he goes to him about every three months for an adjustment or when he feel likes he needs an adjustment.
