I have never considered the gender of a person who I pick for a physician. I am wondering why you specified a female doctor. I have had good ones from both genders and some not so good too.

Agree with you totally. In fact, having worked for both, I have many times been asked whether I preferred a male or a female boss. My answer was always the same. I prefer the person who is the best boss.

However, having reached the "golden years" (especially when I cough or sneeze) I find there may be some things that I personally would feel more comfortable discussing with a female rather than a male. Perhaps that is OP's position?

Or, is it simpy the case of a jealous spouse? Or, maybe the female doctor is for her husband. LOL

Good Lord. Now the OP has to justify to total strangers on this site, why she wants a female doctor. If you've got a good doctor to recommend, do so. If not, it's none of our business why someone wants a certain gender doctor. OP: I'm not sure what plan you have, but my wife is happy with her doctor, Mariel Gonzalez, at the Pinellas Care Center.

OP needs to justify nothing to no one. Just having what I thought was a little light-hearted banter.

Apologies if anyone was offended. Certainly not intended.
