Default PCP Eye Doctor

We have preferred care Partners Ins and hubby is having cataract surgery. Mid Florida Eye does not have participating optical department. Does anyone know where he can get his free eyeglasses which are provided by the insurance company?

Call the PCP office! I stopped in there and was given a few places. You have to see an optometrist first...IF you have issues with your eyes THEN you may go to Mid-Florida Eye to see their specialists. I have no trouble with this at this time.

The 3 places I was told about were....Walmart on 441, Optical Outlet by 5 Guys and The Villages Optical in the Oakland Hills Prof. Bldg. I'd say if this isn't something you don't want to do...call the PCP office and ask for other options if there are any.

Thanks for the quick answer. DH got his diagnosis at Lange last year while they were still participating and he is scheduled for Jan 17 surgery. But he can't get the free glasses at Mid Fla Eye because the optical shop does not participate with PCP. So far we are very happy with Mid Fla Eye and ADr Panzo.
The Optical Outlet we refuse to go to because dh got 3 pr of glasses there previously and they will not stand behind them. The anti-glare is coming off-he was treated very rudely by the staff also. The temples also came off the glasses and they refuse to fix them.
We will check out Walmart 441 and Villages Optical. Is it also on 441 in Summerfield?

I have a negative experience as well with the Optical Outlet. Too long to go into here! I wouldn't recommend them generally but these were the 3 options given to me. I think I will try one of the other two when the time comes. I believe I also had chatted some months ago with a person who'd "doctored" at Walmart for their eyes and glasses. Not sure which one though.

I've read and heard great things about Dr. Panser at Mid-Florida Eye! He'd be my choice too!

I believe Dr Dianne Orr is at WalMart 441. She has an excellent reputation.

Talking

Walmart on 441 would be a great choice. They are very easy to talk to, and they are very helpful. I had my: exam done at Lange but did not get my glasses from them.

We stopped at Walmart 441 today and were treated well and found they do indeed accept PCP and are willing to work with us on the glasses after cataract surgery.
Also Stopped at the place across the road(Eye Institute) and they are just getting set up and will not have optical shop ready when he needs the glasses. They were actually closed and I called on the phone and talked to someone. We were kindof left cold with them so are looking at Walmart for sure.
Does the other Walmart on 466 also participate with PCP?
Thanks again for all your help. You saved us from frustration.
We will definitely checkinto Dr Orr too. I would like to get contact lenses so will check with her.

The Walmart on 466 does NOT participate with PCP....Great to hear the good reports re: 441 Walmart! That will be my choice for sure...maybe for glasses too if I need a change!!!
