Lake Sumter Landing Web Cam

There is a live web cam at Spanish Springs and Lake Sumpter Landing. When I go to the Villages Web Site and click on the Lake Sumpter Web Cam, a window comes up and tells me the following:

"The ActiveX camera control which enables you to view live image streams in Microsoft Internet Explorer, could not be registered on your computer".

Does anyone know how to fix this?? Or can anyone point me to a person that can help me.

Charlie

I received the same message after I reinstalled IE-8 bata. I just clicked on the bar at the top of the display and it installed the active-x add on with no problem. I can view the web cam with no problem.
The reason I reinstalled IE-8 again was that I was not able to see the advertisments on the side bars on this site and some option buttons on other web sites. I was able to see everything when on these sites at work but not at home. I went back to square one and started over again. I think I have added 3 or 4 IE add on back in as they are needed by some sites.

I'm assuming you have Internet Explorer 7. Here's what to do. In Internet Explorer, click on tools, then internet options. click on the tab labeled security. at the bottom of that windows is a button that says "reset all zones to default level". click on that. then click ok. try it again. if that doesn't work, then let me know. I have other things to try out.

Oops I'm a little slow in replying. sorry.

We've had a zillion discussions on TOTV about this darn LSL web cam over the past year or two. :cus: Despite the skilled instructions from peeps like Russ B, I'm still struggling.

Every time I change computers I start over again. I've never been able to increase the size of the screen, but everyone else seems to be able to do it.

Now I have a lap top and I'm getting the active X control message once again. When I right click on it, I do NOT get an option to install it.

Back to square one. :Screen_of_Death::cus:

Would that be www.thevillages.com site or something else?

Ok, In internet options, go to the advanced tab, then click on "restore advanced settings"
see if that works, if not, then we will have to go into the registry and delete a key.
