The Villages Guest Passes
Our Daughter in Law's parents and their children are coming to The Villages to stay in our home while we are in Ohio.
They don't golf and do not plan on using the sports pools. Should they buy the $50 pass or should I just get them guest passes? Does the $50 pass entitle them to things I am not thinking about? Thanks for your thoughts...deb |
Look at the posting on age requirements. Are the children under 19 years old? How long will they be staying?
|
The kids are under 19 and they will only be there for a week at the most. Their parents realize that they will not be allowed at the 30 and over pools.

JD....not sure how long they are staying. The $50 resident ID transfer gets you lower rates in the movies and maybe some other minor things (golf fees would be the biggest advantage).
Guest passes should suffice for them. Buggyone's comment is only germaine if they have underage children and are planning to stay for more than a month. Didn't get from your question that this would be the case. |
Hello Deb, You will only need the guest passes. Your inlaws and kids will each need thier own pass. You can stop by any regional rec centers, fill out the form (Name, Address, Date of Birth) and have them printed up for you right then and there. Also you can do this online at https://www.thevillages.net/ ( Guest Pass ID Application ) both cases you'll need you Village ID and 6 digit number. With the online you'll also need your pin number. Online you can order 28 days in advance.
|
You'll also need everyones birth date.

Thank you ALL very much! You are so thoughtful to help me. Have a great day. Thanks again, deb

And, guests must be 13 years of age for Billiards. And, the guest pass is valid only when accompanied by a valid photo ID. Be sure to carry both with you at all times. I copied this directly from our daughter's guest pass paper, so there are no surprises. :icon_wink: |
Uu, the younger kids could drive the golf cart. The ID and an adult would only be needed if they used any of The Villages facilities. Kids also don't need a photo ID unless they happen to have one perhaps from school or drivers license.
|
Yes, kids at least 14 years old can drive the golf cart. Better make sure there is insurance on the golf cart adequate enough to cover any accidents and injuries - or Gramps may lose his house.

There is no special rule for how long grand kids can stay in The Villages. Guests are guests, regardless whether they are grand kids or not. The rule is that a resident can apply for a guest pass for anyone living outside the area who is one year of age or older. That guest pass will be good for 30 days of visitation rights, consecutive or not, per year. If you have 1 or a dozen grand kids, 20 great grand kids, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and 7 friends... they all can get a guest pass for up to 30 days per year.
