Default Any good ideas for catering an event?

Our neighborhood group is going to have a party for 80 -100 people.

Has anyone had really good food from a local restaurant catered to their party?

All ideas welcome!

I have been to an event that was catered by OakWood Smokehouse and it was very good. Just yesterday a neighbor told me they were having OakWood cater an event and they are charging $10 per person. I think that is an excellent price. OakWood Smokehouse and Grill, Barbeque, Catering Leesburg FL

I have been very pleased by Hacienda Catering several times for large neighborhood parties.

There wasn't even a minor problem, the menu selections are good, the taste is great, and the cost is reasonable.

Call Beth Parker at 753-2367.

cquick and others:

I believe that La Hacienda Catering remains the only company allowed to offer what I call full-service catering. That is, company employees set up, serve and tear down.

Other outfits (Toojay's, redsuace, etc) are allowed to bring stuff to your venue, but it is your responsibility to serve, and to clean up afterwards.

The difference financially can be fairly substantial, but so can your group's expenditure of personal effort! Weigh the capabilities of your members against your group's treasury - do so carefully!

There are many rec centers where you can now bring in any outside caterer you want. Check with the Rec Center you want to use. It is no longer the case that only Hacienda can cater. Except at a few halls such as Hacienda, as I understand it.

Default Catering

We have used Athens NY Restaurant from SS. They do it all with their own employees. From beginning to end. Set up, cook food, serve and clean up. They did a great job. Food was served on time as promised. Staff was professional.

Default Oakwood

A few years back I had Oakwood cater a retirement party at Bacall Rec Center. They delivered , set up, served (buffet style) and cleaned up. There was no delivery charge and they charged exactly what it would have cost us to eat at the restaurant.
