Default Blue Highway Pizzeria - Reviews

I had lunch there today and it was excellent. I got the thin crust pizza with eggplant, garlic and those fancy purple olives. It was crispy and didn't flop down when you hold it by the crust. They take pride in the fact that all the ingrediants for the entire menu are bought locally.

I do. It was hard to make a menu decision.
I go to the Appleton Art Museum [it's grand] in Ocala with friends. Today I asked the people who worked there for a place to eat. They both agreed that this is the place to go.

We love Blue Highway. Best pizza by far and so worth the drive. We used to have to drive to Micanopy so glad they opened in Ocala.

Ocala is a pretty big place. Where exactly is The Blue Highway?

Near the Red Highway.

(Actually they have a few locations in Florida. Closest is 2130 E. Silver Springs Blvd.)

yep the 3rd on: Micanopy (original on 441) G-ville (#2 on Newberry Rd) and then the Ocala (E. SS blvd .... which is also SR40)

Excellent pie .... one in TV would be most welcome!

I would also love to see a Mellow Mushroom (excellent pie and outstanding beer selection) a little closer than Mt Dora ..... although it is a great excuse to visit Mt Dora

We are staying at an RV park near Micanopy. So, based on this post, we just had pizza for dinner there. I had the thin crust round pie with sausage, my wife had a margarita pie. Both very good. We have been in FL for 23 yrs, and nothing matches a NY pie. But, the Blue Highway pies were about the best that we've had in FL. I also recommend the Swamphead Big Nose IPA. Oh, maybe that's why I enjoyed the pizza so much.

We were in Ocala yesterday and decided to give them a try. We had the best Sicilian pie that I've had in years.

Went back for veggie calzone. Kind of doughy and not enough filling. Will stick with the pizza

I'm glad you agree with me. They would be a good catch near Brownwood.

We stopped in today for lunch after a Dr. appointment in Ocala on the recommendation from here and The Villages Gourmet. It was excellent. Best pizza in the area. I know back home (where ever that is) has the best pizza, but this is the best I have had in this area. We sat at the bar which is right by the kitchen and the pass. All of the food coming out looked yummy. The kitchen was spotless. I would recommend it if you are in Ocala or just want to get out for a while.
