Was there last night and the meat lasagna was delicious!

Place was almost empty and service was very good! Everyone had a good time.

I would definitely go back.

Everyone was at Cody's to be entertained by Mike & Terrie and at Honest John's for the 1/2 off burgers.

Went to Mezza Luna last Thursday about 6PM . There were about 6 people at the bar and at least 22 people eating. NO BARTENDER, 1, yes one waitress working with one busboy. Another 15 to 20 people showed up to eat. What a nightmare for poor Tessa. She is probable the best waitress in the Villages. The manager, on duty, was clueless. Had no idea what she was doing. Great FOOD, but no clue how to run a restaurant. I don't know how they stay in business, except for Lou Gotti on weekend night.

People seem to either love or hate this place. They either have a great time and great food, or the service is terrible and the food awful. I can't figure it out.

The one thing I remember from there is that the southern Italian dishes were better than the northern Italian. So our friends' lasagne and tomato-sauced dishes were good, but our veal and chicken were not.

It does seem like they have a staffing problem at times. But that could be from people not showing up for work.

I would not want to be in the restaurant business--especially in a retirement community with people descending in groups.

He was talking about styles of cooking indigenous to specific parts of Italy- the-country, as was I.

There are actually at least two restaurants serving Nothern Italian fare if you are willing to drive a bit:

Donatello in Tampa - Tampa's Donatello Italian Cuisine Restaurant | Fine Italian Restaurant | Fine Dining | Zagat Rated Italian Food

Francesca's Trattoria in Gainesville - Francesca's Trattoria. Italian Dining: Eat > Share > Amore

Both are a bit higher priced than the local competition but we make the drive occasionally for the cuisine.

May take a run to Gainesville-My wife mother's name was Francesca & she was a world class chef- & I'm not Italian- when I was in business several of my customers owned super restaurants & I was privileged to hang out in their kitchens-learned to cook chinese, french & italian cuisine
