Default Sonny's BBQ any good?

Anyone have any experience, good or bad at Sonny's BBQ at LSL? Looking for really good ribs and don't want to waste my time or money on mediocre!

They're ok, but Oakwood is better.

I agree with the previous poster. One of the best brisket sandwiches I have ever had was at Sonny's in LSL. For other choices in the area, you may want to check out the Villages gourmet club at
The Villages Gourmet Club Restaurant Review Site
I also have found the website "yelp" to be very good for restaurant reviews in the area.

We've been to Sonny's a few times and neither of us has any complaints. We enjoyed what we had there!

I liked Sonny's and wasn't impressed with Oakwood. A lot of the opinions depends on what style BBQ you like.

I agree that Oakwood is slightly better, but that is splitting hairs IMO. Sonny's ribs are very good, and this is from a Kansas City native, (many people argue that KC has the world's best barbeque). The Thursday nite all you can eat rib deal at Sonnys is a winner.

Woody's on 301 is the best, IMHO

We have never had a bad meal at Sonny's in LSL.

I can't say the same for the other two places mentioned.

Default Love the ribs

I love the ribs at Sonny's - but only the baby backs. They fall off the bone and you get plenty to eat. The others are not quite as tender....

Sonny's at Lake Sumter Landing has excellent baby back ribs, Oakwood's are also excellent as are Cody's at Lake Sumter Landing.

Hey, I like them all!

Parker, you should give them a try - see what you think. Everyone's going to have different tastes and experiences.

Default About Cody's...

Our whole family went there a few months back. My ribs were good but several family members had ribs so tough their knives wouldn't even get the meat off the bone! When staff was told about it they brought new knives. Not real impressed

But based on the reviews here, we'll be giving Sonny's a try. Thanks everyone!
