Thumbs up 12-14-2016 Blood, Platelet, Red Blood Cells, or Plasma Donors.

I often try to donate blood, platelet, red blood cells, or plasma on 12-14 as a way of standing up to karma so to speak but cannot get in this week because of family related commitments.

Good luck to those donating today and especially tomorrow.

I will be donated platelets next week. Hope they have some nice goodies and say hi to Blanca, Charlie, Mary, and Juanita, Frank and the others for me. I go by Jon there.

Is tomorrow a special donating day?

Years ago I used to donate plasma or platelets often but stopped as it seems that it might have negative consequences on your lymphocyte count. Have you researched this? There used to be a waiver NY Blood had me sign before donating platelets and plasma.

Edit, seems they eliminated that issue...

Effect of long-term platelet donation on lymphocyte subsets and plasma protein concentrations. - PubMed - NCBI

Who is the hottest nurse with a skinny needle so I can ask for her? Is this same donation place on 441 left of publix?

The numbers appeal to me. Doing good on a date 2-24 or 12-14 when something really bad happened and which I am reminded about many times a day. I donated whole blood at Winn-Dixie on Old Camp Road back on 12-14-2015. They may be there again at that Winn- Dixie. It looks like One Blood is at the Sumter Landing Winn-Dixie on 12-19-2016.

Mine is right around there too. I have to schedule them carefully because of the 24 donations a year limit. I can start doing these platelet donations every two weeks soon once we get into mid-January of 2017.

I did my donation with no problems. My iron is 15.3, getting a little high. I hit the 13 gallon mark.

Cool. 15.3 is kind of normal for me.

Did platelets yesterday and the iron was down to 14.3. A fellow donee Heather laughed when I almost fell off the scale which made me happy as it shaved 15 lbs off my weight. Finally up past 14 with 14.125.

Juanita did an excellent job with the needles and Ann-- who I have seen frequently when I used to do the blood mobiles-- popped by and seemed very excited about something or other. Did wish her a Merry Christmas.

Got almost through Interstellar one of the ten new movies they have available now. I have seen just about all of them.

It seems that when my iron gets above 15 that the donation takes a little longer. It took 113 minutes this time and when my iron is about 14.5 it takes about 95 minutes. I have had it take over 120 minutes, then I go in for a whole blood donation

Merry Christmas to you and yours

That is the case. I have been in the chair for over two hours when the iron level in 16.2 or +.

I was only on the chair yesterday for about 95 minutes as you say.

No sign of Mary yesterday. It was good to see an excited Ann though. She has been around for years at the One Blood mobile units.

Next donation is whole blood at the Fire Station on CR44. The Parrothead Drive on January 5, 2017.

Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.

I walked past there Thursday. Their sign they had had only 6 donors and they needed 15.

I was returning the movie Bad Moms after doing some Christmas shopping in Sumter Landing.
