Thumbs up Silence (2017).

Tells the story of Japanese resistance against Christian missionaries in the mid 1600s. Probably not for everyone and it is about three hours long. I did find the investigation into holding onto your beliefs no matter what it costs you interesting especially considering the title of the movie of outwardly accepting that you are abandoning what you hold dear to survive but being silent about your true self and what you in reality hold dear. Some rather harrowing scenes as well but tame relative do what you see in other movies out in 2016 and 2017.
