So long Mary. Thank you for some great shows that proved you didn't need profanity to be funny and sincere at times.

During the holidays Sundance channel ran MTM shows from the 70's non-stop, I recoreded 22 of the episodes. For the past week we've been watching one every night. It seems weird for her death to happen while were watching her every night. Ted Baxter was one of our favorite characters.

MTM was one of my 'crushes' when I was a teenager, in my 20s, in my 30s, and so on. Just something about her - so darn pretty with that innocent cute joyful personality.

If I was in Vietnam in the 60s her picture would have been on my locker. But I was domestic and watched her on TV, crush and all.

She was special and left a lot of wonderful memories for a lot of folks. Unlike Lou Grant, I loved her spunk.

Heheh. From what for me is one of the greatest exchanges in sitcom history.

For some reason her death gives me the reality of how short life is... she was always young and beautiful.... Be nice, she would want it that way for everyone. I loved every show she was in.

I remember seeing this movie and enjoyed the chemistry between Mary Tyler Moore and Elvis Presley. She brought out his acting ability that I had not seen before.

Who among us has never seen the "Chuckles the Clown" episode? Such a talented woman.

So true. But I remember an episode where she was doing a talk thing alongside Ted Baxter, who was spewing crapola that was very embarrassing to the station. Finally Mary said, on air, "Ted, would you shut up!" I laughed so hard. I think it was in late '73 or very early '74, because I was in our family room with a colicky first born. It was for sure the best part of that night. But I could have all that time mixed up in my mind due to parental fatigue back then!
