Breakfast Smoothie Recipe Needed
Hi:
I am not one to eat breakfast and find myself skipping that meal. I'm looking for a recipe for a breakfast smoothie I could make that would be healthy and without regular milk or ice cream. Soy milk would be my preference as I am lactose intollerant. Can you share with me your breakfast or anytime smoothie recipe? I need to start getting something in my stomach before 1:00 in the afternoon. Thanks, |

A really healthy and good tasting green smoothy recipe is - almond milk, a half cup of baby spinach, half or whole banana (cuts spinach bitterness so you don't taste it), and any other fruit eg. raspberries, strawberries etc. Add a little ice too. You will love it.

I am not lactose intolerant, so some substitution would be necessary, but here goes
Milk French Vanilla Slimfast Banana Peanut Butter Ice The Elvis smoothie

You can use any ingredients you like. I use yogurt, make it myself...3 quarts at a time. Put some in a blender and add whatever fruit or vegies you like....and if you like it cold add some ice.

Well, tastes differ, but I love this one. I was raised on peanut butter, banana, and mayo sandwiches.

Sounds wonderful. Just a side note to anyone turning their nose up at the spinach, you cant taste it and it may turn a bit green but it will get all your healthy vitamins in. I have also used Kale which has the same effect.

Quote:
Unsweetened Almond Milk: 8 ounces Mixed berries: 5 ounces Amazing Grass Green Superfood: 2 tablespoons Flaxseed Meal: 2 tablespoons Coconut Flour: 2 tablespoons Total calories: between 350 - 400 Total fiber: between 19 - 21 grams This isn't real "smooth" but there's lots of veggie servings, calcium, fiber, omega-3s and it tastes pretty good too.

My favorite is--
1 cup skim milk -- I know you can use water and probably other milk 1 scoop Synthrax Matrix Mint Cookie (internet) 3 ice cubes half frozen banana frozen strawberries to taste (Sam's Club) I add fiber - and use Meijer's Sugar Free Berry. Blend in my Vitamix! Delicious. Tastes like a shake. Sometimes Mom and I split one in the evening! I love these shakes so much that when we travel by car, I take my blender with me! I buy several packages of bananas at a time. I cut the bananas into quarters when I get home and put them on a cookie sheet and put in the freezer. After they are frozen, I put the bananas in Ziploc Freezer bags.
