Okay - ENOUGH!

If ALL we have to worry about is which grocery store we should shop in then I think we are in a VERY GOOD PLACE.

Whatever you want - ENJOY! Life is too short!!!!

I did try Fresh Market again last week because many people on this forum really like it and it was o.k. but I couldn't quite get the hang of it. And also the area where they store the carts needed a good cleaning and the carts could use a bath too.

You never see a dirty cart at Publix or junk left in them. The Publix on 466 always looks so fresh and clean. I like that.

BUT.....the best cookies are to be had at Winn Dixie. That store manager is doing a terrific job. I think his Winn Dixie is the nicest I have ever been in.
The new Winn Dixie's are very nice and perhaps underrated. Frankly, we shop more at Publix because it's close. I've never got the hang of Fresh Market either but go there occasionaly on Tuesdays for their special meats.

Wegman's must be amazing if it beat Publix.

I went to Shop Rite up north (where they didn't even talk to you).
Publix is wonderful and I also love Fresh Market.

The stores down here are far superior to any store I shopped in up in NY/NJ!

I accept your comment that Publix is your number one for the area. Perhaps not the same with others.
You are correct, my reply was not very tolerant, nor was it meant to be. There has been a couple of postings about Publix and enviably someone bring up why they can be more like Wegmans. This store is not in TV and never will be. People need to get over it and move on.

We have very good grocery stores in our little slice of paradise. Publix is a store that excels in their field. Embrace them. Enjoy what we have.

I sooooo agree with you. The supermarkets in Brooklyn were so pathetic. I am loving the marketing here!

I agree. But until they are in The Villages, stopping at Trader Joe's in Dr. Phillips on the way back from Disney World is a treat!

Agreed! In NY I use Stop & Shop & King Kullen. Publix is by far a better store. We do not have Wegmans.

Totally agree. Market Baskets are clean, well organized, and have a huge selection. Their deli section also has subs, sushi, pizzas, fried and roasted chicken, complete home made meals, and the produce section is enormous. They are not as decorated as a Wegman's, but their prices are fantastic, and personally, I want good prices more than ambience. Just got back from Ma., and brought back 10 lb. of natural casing hot dogs at $3 a lb. Now with that being said, I shop all the stores in the area and like them all for different items. I do find Publix more expensive, but they absolutely have the best service.

I do really like Publix, but we do more spur of the moment shopping than "make a list and check it twice" type shopping. We stop at the closest Publix when out running errands and the ONLY complaint that I have is that each store is laid out entirely differently. We end up getting lots of extra steps on our Fit Bits trying to find item X which is located somewhere different in each and every store.

It seems to me that if the items were stocked in some kind of consistent order in every store, it would be easier for shoppers and for employees, or "associates" who move from one store to another.

I have to mentally think " Ok, I'm in the Colony store, so they stock item X near produce", or "This is the 44 store, so item X is stocked near the yogurt", or "Dang, this is the Spanish Springs store so item X is near bottled water". It is really a guessing game.

BUT, that is my ONLY complaint. Customer service is excellent, the stores are clean, prices are fair, especially with the BOGOs, they carry quality produce and meats, and a good assortment of everything else.

I guess the "treasure hunt" we go through at different locations will keep our minds sharp. Right??

I like Publix a lot. Shopped King Kullen & Shop Rite on Long Island Publix & Winn Dixie beat them hands down. In fact I'm off to Publix right now.
