Angry Alternatives to Comcast??

We are owners of a villa that we rent out during the season. Our 2 yr contract with Comcast has now expired so our 45 channels and internet is now costing $99.00!!??? Absurd to pay that much for the months when it's not being used (except for our occasional visit). I know we can get Dish or Direct TV, but who for the internet? I have currently put it on vacation hold, but am told it can only be done once a year....great! Anybody have any suggestions/solutions?
Thanks!

Do you live south of 466A? If so you can get Brighthouse and they have a much more flexible vacation hold program.

What alot of people (Snowbirds) do is sign up for a plan with no contract, use it in the winter months, cancel the service and resign up again in the fall. If your services are off for 120 days, you are eligible for new customer promotional rates.
Wouldn't you have to turn In the equipment every time you cancelled and then reinstall when you sign on again. If so, that is way too many interactions, especially with Comcast. I found the Bright House system so easy to put on hold but I know they are only available south of 466A.

They cancel and turn it in every spring and sign up again in the fall?

No wonder going to the Comcast office to get or turn in a box is like waiting at the border in Tijuana, and the expressionless workers stare like they're in a zoo cage with no water in a week!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who in their right mind goes there if they don't have to??

You can go to the Comcast Office in Leesburg, it's a large regional office.
They treat customers there much better.
Forget the Summerfield office. They're idiots.

We just changed from Direct to Dish and had the internet choice also. Comcast was charging us $80 so we went to their office on 441 and the girls in there gave us internet and Basic cable(which we did not get hooked up) and it cost us $54 a month for that. If you could get by with the Basic cable from Comcast this may be a choice for you.

Do you know if Dish has the Internet option for the Village of Lynnhaven? We are near the public high school...
