Sorry I'm not buying that one. If they really don't know any better then they should be enrolled in a puppy training class. Puppys don't know any better either until we teach them.

Gotta add to that. I think there are a lot of retired people who were in positions of power and used to being kowtowed to. Add to that the aging process and hardening of the arteries, which my aunt claims turned my uncle very cranky, and... you get some rude behavior.

A little. (Actually quite a lot.)

I can relate. Went to see the 4:15 showing of Jersey Boys today. We ended up having to move to the other side of the theatre. Nope, they where not kids, Villagers.

Sorry to hear that. I would do that frequently in Palm Harbor, Clearwater, Oldsmar and other venues playing movies in the Tampa Bay area, but rarely had to move because of noisy theater goers. I rarely go at night though so drinking and other factors might play in the difference of the crowd. I do see you went during the day.

Being a nurse, I appreciate medical conversations- however---Tonight with my mother in the theater:

Sitting with the other 8 people scattered about at Brownwood Theater. In comes four ladies. They decided to climb all the way up (okay 3/4) and sit directly behind us (sigh). I giggled and told my mom "get ready" as I know, what is about to happen.

Lady 1 to Lady 4 (speaking loudly across the other two) as the previews start- "How did your colonoscopy go?"
Lady 4 "Went well, no polyps just gas pains afterwards and go back in 5 years".

LOL--I swear EVERYTIME people must be attracted to sit right behind me in a near empty theater and talk about their bowels...COME ON PEOPLE....Not everyone cares that your bowels moving or not moving and please if you enter a nearly empty theater--don't sit directly behind or in front of anyone!

I agree 100% that people should turn off their cell phones and stop talking when the movie starts.

Unfortunately, we will never cure people who are in love with the sound on their own voice.

Also, some people are obliviously with anything around them. Go to any store and some shoppers, act like they are the only one, in the store. I like to wait patiently, as I get a kick when they realize, they have their head in their butt, and apologize.

Default Annoying Behavior

Let me add a few more

Using a "water only" glass and then do Sprite (that you didn't pay for)
Asking for more rolls/bread/biscuits and then taking all of them home
Taking pizza home off of the all you can eat buffet
Not washing your hands after using the restroom
Chewing with your mouth WIDE open
Taking as many napkins/salt/sugar/ketchup as you can
Ordering med/well burgers at McD's
Yawning and sneezing with no attempt at covering your mouth

Where are we headed? Where did our values/manners go?

Cell phone jammers would solve the problem.

I agree.
For the record I will always change my seat rather then try and change a senior’s behavior. It’s easier. And until we are the kind of friends that are looking for support, I don’t know what their problem is and I don’t want to know.

I taught my children and students good manners. Maybe I'm done.
[Some day, I hope I will have grandchildren to teach and fuss over. I do miss teaching the young ones.]
