Default Anyone Had This problem?

I came out of my house the other day and a woman informed me I had "pocket gophers", in my yard. I looked in my driveway and saw a hugh pile of dirt next to my garage door.

I called Massey and they said they didn't handle this critter and gave me another phone number to call. A wildlife specialists came over, and determined there were coming from my neighbors yard. So he dug a hole to find the raceway and set up several traps.

Came back today and no "varmit" was caught. He then noticed two houses away another pile of dirt. Today he set traps in her yard. This varmit is eating up the neighborhood. This varmit, (I call him, Gus or Gussie the Gopher), is tearing up the neighborhood. I sure hope it's not a female, who had babies!!!

To be resumed tomorrow!

Has anyone else had this happen in their neighborhood? They are wrecking havoc with lawns, and possibly sprinkler systems.

Not had this happen here, but in CA, we had a gopher that lived in our back yard for a little bit. Fortunately we had a HUGE pile of dirt back there at the time so the beast decided to tunnel in that. Just as we were getting ready to call a varmint wrangler, the gopher tunneled under the fence and headed to our neighbor's yard.

They really can wreak havoc in the landscaping....and they can be very difficult to trap. I'm so sorry....and I do hope this "adventure" will soon be resolved.

I just spread out the dirt and they usually do not comeback for a few months. I do not think you can trap them all so I would skip trying.

We had one earlier this year. There was so much dirt I actually thought someone had come into my yard at night and dug a hole! It was hard to believe a small animal had shifted that much earth. I filled in the hole -- trench, really, along the edge of the lanai -- and we haven't had any further problems.

I can lend you a big dog. That should get rid of any gophers.
