Default Best pepperoni rolls in The Villages?

I plan to take pepperoni rolls, which were first created in Fairmont, West Virginia by Country Club (Road) Bakery in the 1920s for the coal miners, to the West Virginia Club potluck dinner Feb. 16th.

Who makes the best pepperoni rolls in The Villages? I mean the authentic version, with thin pencil like pieces of peppersoni, not the fake coin-shaped crap.

Thank you very much.

Coal miners used to take a stick of pepperoni and a loaf of Italian bread into mines, because pepperoni sticks don't go bad that fast. So an enterprising Italian put the pepperoni sticks in a bun, and it is recognized as the official state food of West Virginia.

My sister brings them to me every time I travel 180 mlles to meet her in Mountaineer Field for a WVU football game.

Try Bravo pizza at LSL. If they don’t have it, maybe they’ll make it for you.

However, I think you’ll only find sliced pepperoni.

Indeed a wonderful story and one West Virgina should be proud

I believe you will find similar/variations of pepperoni/sausage rolls etc just about everywhere Italians settled. A good thing spreads quickly a slice of pizza anyone?

The difference in taste between the pencil thin shaped slices and the coin-shaped is incredible! If it's not a sliver, it isn't the real deal. I'm still looking for a place IN THE VILLAGES to get the real deal kind so I can buy them fresh and then made a mad dash to the West Virginia Club monthly meeting before they cool.
