Has anyone converted old 8mm or super 8mm from film to dvd?
There is a guy at Market of Marion, has anyone used him? Looking to have this done, any info would be appreciated.

I think that Sams Club or Walmart does it but not sure I would trust them.

I did my research and found that Costco had the very best deal -- they sublet to the largest company in the world doing transfers -- the quality was better than most and far more economical -- you would probably save enough to pay for a Costco membership !!!

I did a google search for “convert home 8mm movies to dvd” and got quite a few hits. You may give them a shot.

Personally, I am using AppGeeker to burn files onto DVD, happy with the results. don't know if it works with 8mm movies, I can't vouch for it.

I converted super 8 to VHS probably around 1980 ... by filming (using a hand held VHS camera) the super 8 film that was projected onto a screen.

I couple of years ago converted some of these VHS tapes to digital using Honestech 5.0 ... hooking up a VCR to my computer and saving the digital to the hard drive. It's a tedious process but it got the job done.

That being said, you will have better quality skipping the VHS step that I did.

Good luck.
