I heard from highly reliable sources that Costco has said they will move into the same plaza as Macy's and Trader Joe's right after The Polo Grounds are torn down........

We asa two person household use costco for all our paper products and most other things that don't spoil. We also bulk buy the meats and repackage for smaller portions and put in the freezer.

Just like Sam's Club enjoys the residents of TV their market appeal is to a much larger geographic and demographic clientele tha just TV.....ditto would be for Costco.

I personally do not see that much of a difference between Costc or Sam's. It amounts to personal preference.

Maybe now that Forbes Magazine has named the villages as the number one place for businesses and careers in areas with less than 250,000 population, some of these places we keep asking for will take a second look.

I have to admit I am shocked how many people are standing in line waiting for Sam's Club to open early in the morning.

Representatives for Costco have said many times that The Villages and surrounding areas are considered "seasonal" and they, traditionally, do not build in seasonal areas. We were living in Carson City, NV when the Costco there opened, although there was a Costco in Reno, which was only about 25 miles away. The line was over a mile long to get in the door. It was quite the event, and I would assume the same would happen should Costco decide, in the future, to locate here. We'll see.

Having lived in NV, and knowing Carson City, I would say TV is long over due for a Costco. Carson City is also seasonal - except the snowbirds are in the legislature.

I think they're working with old or bad data. They should come look at how busy Sam's is in the off season.

If someone needs something special every now and then, it's worth the trip to the north end. BTW, I heard you guys get snow in the winter. Is that true?[/QUOTE]

No Snow but you do need the correct Visa in your Passport.

That's probably why they don't really worry about how they treat the customers since hey have such a demand for their product. Left them 4 years ago and never regretted.
