Default CR 462 construction?

Is any part of CR462 closed now because of construction?

It is not open to through traffic by trucks, but autos can travel through.

I just go on 466a to 301 and north, same distance, same time, I have actually seen the same vehicles at both ends of 462 when I took the 466a route. I plan to avoid this road (462) completely for the next year until construction is complete. One other advantage of 466a to 301, NO train crossings to contend with.

When the construction is complete next year, there will be an occasional center lane for left turns, a 35 speed limit, and the long curve will be replaced with a 90 degree intersection with a stop sign.

I agree! Best to avoid the construction area.

I'd like to meet the brilliant person who made this decision! Probably 95% of the vehicles using this road take the curve. Now 95% of the vehicles will have to make a stop and waste gas. There is no way a traffic study was made to result in such a stupid decision!!

At present probably 20% of this road is under construction starting at RT 301 yet....they've changed the speed limit to 25mph all the was to 466A. Another brilliant decision and folks, we're paying these people.

I can't figure why anybody would travel 462 to go north on 301. I would travel 462 only to conduct "business" some where along the way or I was Playing golf or my home was there or just wanted to watch the construction work. It's not a scenic route.

Well, I can speak from experience that in certain areas of Ohio, the road construction, engineering, job times, and cost overruns are not anything to brag about. Two examples: in Columbus the years it's taking to complete the I-70/71 - 670 corridors and the Schrock Road/Route 3 intersection in Westerville that has been under construction for over a year. Those people are being paid also. I might add, I fully expect I-71/I-75 in downtown Cincinnati to still be a work in progress when I pass through there in December.

462 is now blocked completely from 301 till just past St. Vincent dePaul, but we can still access the church, at least so last Monday. Used to be able to cross tracks aand detour behind. Will see tomorrow must leave earlier. Or go to St. Tim's. don't which pews are not taken. We staked out ours first Mass in new church.

So much for that shortcut from Lynnhaven to Brownwood.

I must say though that I really hate that turn onto the curved road. Glad that the are doing something about it.
