Default Day Trips from TV??

Hi, we are new to TV and Florida having come from the West Coast.
Is there a thread or listing of good day or overnight trips from TV?
I think there is a columnist in the Daily Sun who makes trip suggestions occasionally. Do you know who that might be?
Thank you so much, I love Village People!!

Tarpon Springs on the Gulf side is an easy day trip and quite a bit of fun to do. Also, there is Cocoa Village and Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic side for either an overnight or day trip. We also go to Clearwater Beach for both a day trip and an overnight sometimes.

what about the "travel forum" right here on TOTV? I'll bet there's a lot of good info there. I agree with all the suggestions given so far, and I'll add a couple more that my "northern" friends have enjoyed...I found them by searching Florida State Parks.

Deleon Springs....the old Sugar Mill....make your own pancakes and then take a nature boat ride.

Blue Springs State Park....look at the Manatees and take a nature boat ride.
