Perfect idea, we'd love to be able to stay more than 182 days in a calendar year!

RickeyD, believe me, we would file for permanent residency if we could.
To get a green card you have to be working. There is no such thing as a retiree visa.
We are stuck in Canada for 183 days in a calendar year.
Luckily we can spend winters in The Villages, and we appreciate that very much!

I took a ride to Fenney yesterday. I didn't realize it, but the entrance is 5 miles from Rte 44. Looking at the map I can see that 44 swings west so it's not 5 miles as the crow flies, but still it has to be three miles to Brownwood.

It also appears that golf carts are going to have to go under the Turnpike. It's going to be interesting to see how this is all done.

As someone stated, the demand must be there. These are not stupid people doing this. I'm sure that they understand the risks and rewards and the odds.

What's amazing is the sheer magnitude of a project like this. As you drive around the neighborhoods you see many, many houses being built at the same time. I can't imagine the amount of money needed to do a project like this.

.
How does that compare to the distance (by golf cart) to get from Osceola Hills or Pine Hills to Brownwood ? I would bet it is close to 3 miles from either of those villages.

Yep, you are not far off (3 miles) or slightly more sounds about right. We live in LaBelle and it takes about twenty minutes or so to travel by golf cart to Brownwood. If it was much more, I would take the car. However, we will sometimes travel a greater distance to play golf. Go figure.
