Default Disposing of palm fronds ?

How should we dispose of dead fronds from our newly planted mule palm ? We left them out with our trash this morning but they were not taken away. Is there a special place to take them ? Advice needed for a new Villager ....thanks !

Check your new homeowner paperwork and you'll see which day is designated in your area, to pick up stuff like that.

Or cruise your neighborhood on a daily basis and see when other people put it out.

They actually do a good job......of picking up lawn debris.

In our neighborhood, they come on Wednesday mornings to pick up garden refuse ONLY. Probably the same all over.
You must cut them down to manageable size and stuff them in the brown paper bags used for this purpose.
The bags are cheap and are available by bundle in the grocery stores, hardware and big box stores.
And by the way, Welcome Home! May you love it here.

Thanks Uptown Girl, we are loving it here ...and loving TOTV too . It's amazing how much information is available from the veteran posters. I am surprised more people don't use this website to keep abreast of things. it's so helpful for newbies .....of course, I'm learning also to take some posts with a grain of salt ..... :-)

I had some yard waste that I just put by the curb, gave the guy 5 bucks when He raked it up (they carry a rake on the truck). Cheaper then paper bags and easier on my back!

From VCCD web site.
http://www.districtgov.org/departmen...recycling.aspx

Recycling, Trash Collection and Household Hazardous Waste
In an effort to maintain the aesthetic quality of our beautiful community, we are pleased to provide you with information regarding curbside recycling, trash collection and the disposal of household hazardous waste.

Sanitation services are a contractual provision of your deed covenant and are required on a year round basis provided by two independent vendors:

Waste Management for Lady Lake and Lake County and Sumter Sanitation for Marion and Sumter County.

Sanitation is charged to Village Residents year round irrespective of whether or not the home is occupied. Waste Management bills customers directly and Sumter Sanitation bills in advance as part of the combined bill sent by VCDD Utilities.

Rubbish is to be placed in dark plastic bags…… Recycling is to be placed in clear plastic bags…. Yard waste is to be bundled or placed in brown paper bags.

Items should be placed at the curb on the night before your pickup date.
