Default Irrigation system tune up

Just had Jim Baumgartner 352-504-2317 out to the house to check and tune up the irrigation system. WOW, on time, had all of the parts to do the work on his truck, did a fantastic job. I walked around with him, and he explained what he was doing an why. Also, reset the controller for soil conditions, and explained settings.
VERY GOOD, highly recommended.

My system 12 years old, I have been working on all the leaks and pop up heads. I'm younger and get bored and this gives me something to do. Hardest part digging around the popups. Replacement easy just unscrew and screw new on in unless you can't change the nozzle. Common popups cheap about $2.50 piece. Nozzles end buck and half. If something major pops up I will keep Jim in mind. Thanks for the referral.

Just had Jim Baumgartner in and am highly pleased. He was prompt, informative, and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

James Baumgartner - (352) 504-2317

He also has a partner, Larry Morgan, who call his business simply "Lawn Donuts". Larry was working just ahead of Jim, cleaning and regrading sunken donuts. He also added donuts that were missing. Larry, like Jim, was prompt, friendly, and reasonably priced.

Lawn Donuts (352)205-9184.

Lets see, 7 zones, around 4 to 5 dozen sprinkler heads, 8 spray head replacements, 2 popup replacements, reset the controller, and cleaned several spray heads, I think I got it all, bill was $175.

Had Jim over a couple of times & does great work BUT gouges on replacement parts.
A prior poster about 2+ mo. ago posted that Jim replaced a part for him & the cost of JUST the part was 75.00; the guy bought the IDENTICAL part for $18.75 @ Ace hardware. Not bad-------- OVER A 400% MARKUP!

Let's make sure we are comparing apples to apples. Jim replaced 2 4 inch pop ups with 6 inch popups, now I did not check the prices of the popups at ACE or similar, however, Jim had to dig out the existing popup, remove it, install the new one, backfill the hole, replace the donut, and then adjust the popup. I think the price he charges was well worth it when you consider the other work involved. IMHO, he does not gouge, the cost for the replacement parts INCLUDES ISTALLTION.

Depends on type and brand of popups some as high as 9 or more bucks and of course where you buy them. Some of the gear driven ones I think are more. No repairman going to give wholesale prices that he paid for and has to restock make trip to get them. Time, gas, wear and tear. IMO If you want it done cheap you will have to do it yourself. But how much is your own time worth?
