If you are living in TV, even renting, you should have cards that admit you to Rec Centers. Attending games near LaZamora would be the best way to meet people in that area. Sorry, I don't know anyone in that area at all.

Sorry Hadawayj, I just realized why you don't have access to a card, I didn't connect with the other thread, duh.

Good luck in finding a local game, I wish I could help. If you ask your neighbors you might get lucky. Some neighborhoods have private games each week.

I've thought about learning to play also, when we become frogs. For those who have done both, would you say it is easier or harder than bridge?

I would say about the same. With Mah Jongg you are on your own without a partner.

I think mahjongg is easier. As Avista said, it's not played with a partner, which I prefer. If you're having an off day, you don't have to worry about disappointing your partner. Also, with mahjongg, you play with tiles, not cards. There is something tactile and satisfying about MJ tiles.
