Default New Subject - Saturday Storm

Wow. It is coming down in hillsborough and loud. The cat is still on the enclosed lanai so she either has no survival instincts or we are safe.

I had no sooner opened the door with the dogs for a jaunt here in Tamarind Grove when the rain started. I thought we would wait it out in the garage, as I could see sunshine. But no. Our kids are at Brownwood. Hope they found their way out of the rain.

I think your cats may be missing a survival gene or two. My cat, who hardly ever comes in from the lanai no matter what the weather, heard one bolt and was gone. This storm was definitely a doozy. Glad it was short-lived.

Pretty good storm, and if you look outside, part 2 is on its way. The wind blew the rain across 17 feet of screened in lanai and to the TOP of the glass sliders on the house. My dogs wanted no part of staying out there

Yep, I got few sprinkles, about every storm either goes by to the north, south, east or west of me. Sure I get all the lighting, thunder, and humidity. But little rain

And the neighbors sprinklers are running. So much for that water sensor gizmo working.

Not to be a know-it-all, but the sensors do not react immediately to rain. It takes a while for the absorption material inside to...absorb the moisture, and it needs to have enough to reach the lower limit.

During the last week+ here in Gilchrist East, every single approaching storm would go north, south or split as it came close. Virtually no rain at all. Geez did yesterday make up for that, like feast or famine. The wind was certainly tropical storm-like and I'd guess 2++" of rain. Finally.

And yes, about an hour later, my (out of town) back neighbors irrigation switched on.

What a wonderful rain shower, FINALLY! The vegetation, wildlife and we humans all needed a good rinsing.

Our "girls" and I just got back from our Sunday morning golf cart ride and wow, there are a lot of palm fronds down. Also, saw several bottlebrush trees snapped over in yards on Pinellas. Finally, some rain.

Your neighbors may have to replace their sensor, we had to do that recently.
