Mine is 7' x 15' and I often wish it was bigger. A 20' x 40' would work well for a 2 bedroom house. A 20' x 60' would be more suited for a 3 bedroom house.

A golf cart measures about 4'W X 8' L. So if you want to park 2 carts you need about 10' X 20' to leave a little walking around room. A 15' deep cart garage will limit you to one cart which is what the developer builds as a "standard" cart garage.

Do the gold cart garages need to be attached to the house?

We recently added 18' to the back of our golf cart garage. This is my "sweat shop", but whenever we sell, it could be utilized for an additional golf cart.

make it the size of the smallest full sized garage. If I had to do mine over again I would not restrict my future useage of the garage to the size of a golf cart.

You are my kind of guy.... sad to say we have one of those tiny half garages where a cart just barely fits!

Thanks

If you are asking about homes in TV that have a golf cart(s) garage with door, and is NOT intended for a car, the doors are 6' wide and the garage area is usually 9'-10' wide. Some of these garages are two golf carts deep, most are one cart deep. Some are located on the outside of the car garage, others are located in the inside of the car garage (relative to the main entry door). The location and depth varies with the house model and depends on whether the garage has been stretched in depth. So there is not one "standard" golf cart garage size. Generally speaking the less the sq ftg in the house, the lower the sq ftg will be in the garage for golf cart parking.

Realistically 2 ft is needed around a golf cart for parking/access. Especially if it is in a "golf cart garage".

Hope that helps round out the good info already provided.

Regards,
Don

PS we have NEVER met anyone here in TV who complained about having too much garage.

Our home was a BTS, so I just made my golf-cart garage into a car garage. I have never heard anyone complain that theirs is too big.
