Cool Tunnel closing

We live in the Palo Alto area. My wife had a golf game at Churchill Greens this morning. Our normal route requires us to go via San Marino to the Morse and 466 tunnel. We don't do much Villages Media and apparently missed any notices that this particular tunnel would be closed today. When She got to the tunnel she had to turn back via En Rique, ElCamino Real to Buena Vista then back to 466. She probably drove 5 to 6 miles out of her way.

Wouldn't you think at least one person from Community Watch would have enough sense to realize that signs at San Marino and Morse alerting cart drivers of 466 tunnel closure ahead would be beneficial?? A lot of golf carts drivers were not aware of the closure and had to turn back only after reaching the tunnel.

I thought it was well publicized. Pooh and TVMayor even posted threads last week on TOTV

Also more than once in the Daily Sun.
It just takes too much time money to hold everyone's hand!

I saw it in several places and put a reminder that popped up on my computer screen this morning.

But, I do agree. Signs along the route on both sides for a mile or so would have been a good idea.

If you want to know what is going on, you can sign up for emails from the District Government. I got my email about the closing. I also saw it on t.v., heard it on the radio, and read it online and in the Daily Sun. I got the info. 5 different ways and you didn't get it at all.... what's that tell you?
Why would you blame the people of Community Watch ?

You would think the caution tape blocking the path would have been a good indication.

A.M. 640 made the fact known for approx. 1 week prior to the closing. Great station, lots more than oldies music.

Today was a day to stay on your side , north or south, of 466 for many.....

The assumption is that work will be completed today and the cart path reopened tomorrow. Haven't heard otherwise.

Might be a good idea to sign up for email notifications from the district, Warren...it's always nice to know what's going on around the community.

I drive through that tunnel twice a day, nearly everyday. Obviously, I knew what was going on with the closure, but the first thing I thought is how inconvenient it was going to be for people who didn't see the two electronic signs announcing the closure. I thought that having only the two signs at the two entrances to the tunnel weren't really adequate notice either, Warren.

Here's a thought for the stone throwers: not everyone reads the Sun, visits TOTV or drives that route on a regular basis. I know some of you may be shocked but there are other things out there in the big world. Some people buy other newspapers, leave the bubble and don't participate on chat boards.....

Then don't complain!
