Does anyone know if it's OK to allow a young couple with a six-year-old to stay in our home for a couple of weeks while we're not there?

It is ok. Check on getting guest cards. They can be treated as a renter.

Children under the age of nineteen are allowed to visit a total of 30 days per year.

They can stay as long as they want until someone complains. All enforcement in The Villages is Complaint Driven. No complaint no enforcement.

Now if you want the exact rule I am sure someone will respond with it but I think it is like no one under 19 for more than 30 days.

That is less than one month. People are allowed to have small visitors for one month out of the year.

We miss you Seacoast.

No one under 19 for more than 30 days is correct. If they stay more than 30 days and a complaint was lodged, they would have a problem.

I assume the OP knows these people.

This reminds me of a town in New Hampshire where we used to live. Someone opened a little gift shop in her house in an area zoned residential. Someone (a new resident) came along and complained that no one on the zoning commission did anything. She was told that as long as there was no complaint from a long-time resident, there was no enforcement.

This is poor advice. Just go ahead and break any rules that you want to?

I agree. Comply with the rules. Don't wait for someone to complain.

My question would be do you have a lease that you are doing for that time period? If not the answer is going to be no because you are responsible to be with your guest at all recreation facilities at all times when they are using them.

Also in response to who is watching that kids under 19 are not here for more than 30 days, hopefully everyone! Because if you know of the situation that somebody under 19 is here more than 30 days a year you need to be turning them in. We do not want to lose our 55+ federally regulated status by allowing children to be for more than 30 days per calendar year.

Not sure where is says an owner has to be with a guest at all recreation facilities at all times. That is not what this document says.
