Default Multi-modal path spraying.

This week has spraying of multi-modal paths. There is a map of where they are spraying each night at the postal station. At least, there is one at Lynnhaven Postal Station which has various routes color coded as to wear they are spraying. It recommends that if you live by one of these modal paths you should keep your windows shut the night they are scheduled to spray.

Thanks Bill-n-Brillo. Looked at the Lynnhaven Postal Center for this information on the way to Doggie Doo Run Run this morning but I guess someone no longer found it newsworthy or it was covered via an e-mail like yours.

I would be among the very last to have anything nice to say about the Daily Sun (which is nothing more than a marketing / political position rag for the Morse Family) ... but they did post a comprehensive map of this work on 5/14 - C-9

It is on the districtgov.org site. You can also sign up there to receive emails on announcements such as this.

Some Villagers do not get the Villages Daily Sun nor may they get e-mails from the District.

I read The Villages Daily Sun on occasion but do not get District e-mails.

When we took our dogs out early this morning, there was a kinda sweet, citrusy smell in the air. Have not smelled it before and was wondering if that could be something that was sprayed or somebody's flowers or trees.

They did the cart path behind our house last evening. Kind of interesting to watch, but it only took a short time to complete. I stepped outdoors to take a sniff of the air...wondered if what was sprayed had an aroma. Couldn't notice any different smell in the air. The cart path is a ways from my lanai so maybe I was out of sniffing aroma range.

Default Spraying

Does anyone know what the purpose of the spraying is for?

It's an asphalt rejuvenator... Heres a brief Internet search blurb on what it does:

Pavement Rejuvenator/Sealer is applied in a one coat application. As pavement ages, essential oils are lost as they volatilize from the pavement leading to cracking and pavement failure. Rejuvenator penetrates the asphalt, restores essential oils, rejuvenates the asphaltic binder and repairs damage within the asphalt matrix. Under heavy traffic, smaller cracks may see some degree of closure.
