Default Refrigerator Width

We are negotiating a contract on our house in Ohio and I'd like to ask a question:
How wide is the space for a refrigerator in the Designer series?
We're most interested in a Bridgeport or a Gardenia and if our refrigerator, which is 36-1/4" wide, won't even fit in a Villages house we can happily include it in the sale of our present home. If it fits I'd like to keep it because it's one year old and counter depth.
If anyone can help we'd sure appreciate it!

SO ANXIOUS to be a Villager!

I have a Begonia and my refrig is 36.25 inches. The opening is about 38.5 inches. Most if not all appliances, that come installed are GE, and my Refrig is a side by side. We were told we could not get a new build without appliances.

Thanks for the info! We realize that we'll have to pay for a new refrigerator if we build, but we also understand that it won't be counter-depth and I love my current frig!

Fridge space (width) in my Gardenia is 36" (plus a "whisker"). But, the "standard" fridge is 9" deeper than the counter.

I doubt that there's been any change, but you maybe should bear in mind that my Gardenia is going on six years old!

Default Refrig

If at all possible I'd try and NOT take the refrigerator that comes with the house My GE was 7 months old when the major problems started. Tomorrow is attemt #5 to fix the problem. It's a piece of junk.

Nine years - all GE - and only one problem - a burnt out igniter in the oven.

We were told all kitchen appliances are included in the designers. Our french door ref. is two years old and we used it as part of the negotiations in selling our house. We didn't include it in the listing but used it to counter offer. The buyers were thrilled and we got our price for the house. If your buyers don't want it, you can still sell it on craigslist.com.
I've had extremely good luck getting rid of furniture, yard equipment etc. that we didn't want to bring with us to TV. Think of what it would cost to move it (weight) if shipping co or moving co is involved in your move. We specified we wanted a french door in the new house. Ours was Kenmore, new one is GE. Good luck on your move. Nancy
