Default Information Provided by Sumter County

Sumter County is monitoring Hurricane Matthew as the system approaches Florida. There is some uncertainty as to the direct path of the storm; however, we want to encourage our residents to be prepared. You can find more preparedness information at: Emergency Management | Sumter County, FL - Official Website
At this time, we would also like you to know:
• Schools will be open tomorrow
• Routine government services are still available
• Sandbags are not available
• Shelters have not been activated
If you or a family member requires evacuation assistance or additional care, please register them at: www.snr.floridadisaster.org
Again, we encourage you to be prepared. Hurricane Matthew is a life threatening storm. Florida has not had a major hurricane impact in a decade. Please continue to monitor the storm.
Regular updates will be provided through our website or the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Facebook at Sumter County Sheriff’s Office-Florida or on Twitter at @SCSOFL.
All questions, comments, and concerns can be directed to (352) 569-4400.
