Exclamation Alligator incident in Lakeland, FL

Responding to a 911 call, officers of the Lakeland, Florida, Police Department observed an alligator swimming in a lake with the body of a man in its mouth.

They frightened the alligator and recovered the dead body of the man. The man is presently unidentified. The last time there was an occurrence like this in Lakeland, it was believed that the dead man was a homeless man who had died before the alligator took his body.

Police and a licensed alligator trapper have been pursuing the alligator in the lake. They believe that there are at least two alligators present, but so far they have both eluded capture.

It was probably a golfer that slapped it's tail.

Yeah, that was pretty stupid (and illegal?) on Cody Gribble's part.

Loved the reaction of Smylie Kaufman and his caddie though...when they realized they were walking up on a lounging gator.

Great camera work on both.

And I googled "double bogey", so I learned something new.

Gracie is correct. This was freshly posted on my Facebook page so I thought it was a new incident. This appears to be the incident that I mentioned when posting the link, where it was thought that the victim was a homeless man who had died on the streets and was then found by the alligator.
